The company's purpose is to, as a municipal company and parent company in a group of companies that operate in the fields of energy supply, waste management, and environmental protection, coordinate the group companies to optimize resource utilization. The company also aims to promote access to broadband through open municipal networks for residents and businesses in the Uddevalla municipality. The part of the company and group that falls under sections 7:2 of the Energy Act, 38 of the District Heating Act, and 5:2 of the Natural Gas Act shall be conducted on a commercial basis, without applying the principle of self-sufficiency and without the need to apply the principle of equivalence. The principle of self-sufficiency does not apply to the business related to the leasing and sale of real and movable property and other property management. The part of the company's and group's business that involves the production and trading of electricity is not subject to the principle of location. The company and group may, without observing the principle of location, conduct electricity grid, district heating, and natural gas transmission activities outside the Uddevalla municipality, in the vicinity of the company's or group's respective electricity grid, district heating, and natural gas transmission activities within Uddevalla municipality, in order to achieve an efficient network and district heating operation. In other matters, the company shall, in its business, comply with the municipal legal principles in Chapter 2 of the Municipal Law, taking into account the Energy Act. If the company is dissolved, its remaining assets shall be transferred to the shareholders.
